Calvariam by Lyiba-MoonEyes Calvariam by Lyiba-MoonEyes
I haven't done anything like this in a while :P Basically done to see if I still knew ANYTHING about photomanipulation. Not gonna lie, I kind of surprised myself.

I was hesitant to upload this, because its so different from my other works and I wondered what my watchers would think. Then a second later I was all "stop THAT mess" because dammit this is MY account and I can upload anything I want. So there.

*huff*

But the idea of making other accounts for specific genres of artwork popped into my brain-pan. I shall think on the matter. :iconpipeplz:

Let me start off with the things I love about this image. I love your color scheme and vision on this one as well as the overall softness you have achieved. This feels like a very well put together piece with a cohesive feel and impact. The horse is appropriately detailed with a realistic mane and tail as well. I personally love the feathering down the back, thats a nice touch that I dont often see.

There are a few technical details where you fell short of having that seamless flow that allows the viewer to feel like they're looking at a reality however. The most obvious is in the shadow where the wings aren't casting one as well, just the horse has a shadow. In addition, maybe next time consider building a wing joint instead of justfading the wing edge into the horse. You can do this by cutting a small portion of the birds wing joint with the rest of the wing, fade that portion into the horse and than pull out burn and dodge to build some contours and muscle. Maybe use a little stamp tool to add in some extra feathering around the area.

One other picky note is that normally I like to see a little more shadow where the the wing and horse meet along the barrel.

Again though, I think your color palatte and overall image feel is just wonderful. :)
