Fire Demons in General

Fire Demons-- otherwise known as "Abuki" (pronounced, ah-BOO-kee)-- are lupine creatures of Greater origin who have affinity with heat and fire. Like most Greater creatures, they possess both a humanoid and an animalistic *in this case, resembling a large canid* body which are totally seperate in substance, meaning if, by chance, an Abuki were to get injured while in human form, their animal form will not be affected by the affliction. Very powerful and extremely quick and agile, Abuki are considered a very serious threat if they were to go into Frenzy *more on this topic below*

Their temperament is chaotic and volatile, as well as mischievously destructive. They do not take situations seriously unless it concerns their race personally, in which case they will take care of the situation with total disregard as to the consequences of everyone else who is involved.

Abuki do not need direct water; they hydrate themselves by other means, and are not *seen* drinking from a pond/puddle/water source. Water does weaken them, although it will take a very powerful Shaman indeed to fully put out the flame of an Abuki's life.

Most Abuki travel in small Packs of about 5-8 adult individuals, although some have been known to be solitary--these are considered the most dangerous individuals. Some have been known to mate/pair up with humans, although there have been no valid reports of Half-Breed offspring.

About Abuki
The most commonly seen in animal form, Abuki are about 4' at the shoulder on average, with coarse, snow white fur and very sharp, pronounced claws. They're eyes are always a fiery color, ranging from bright yellow to deep red. 99% are males (very masculine) and, coincidentally, very aggressive and mostly the ones who succumb to Frenzy.

Females who are born as Abuki are....well, generally butch. Again, very aggressively masculine and most likely considered very homely in appearance, most males would be not attracted to them by the sheer fact that they are Abuki, making it very difficult to pair up if they wish too.

Great Red Abuki
A seemingly more "scarce" breed of Abuki. Actually, GR Abuki are not a separate breed at all. They are, very simply, the females of the race, with 99% of them being female. They are considerably larger than the males, about 6' at least at the shoulder *although larger specimens are not uncommon*, their white fur is much more softer than males', with much more in abundance around the ears, chest, back, tail, and hocks. In essence they appear much like a larger, better groomed and petite version of the males. The most noticeable feature of Great Red Abuki is their red markings upon their brow and front legs. This is *probably* how they got their name. The markings are present on both human and animal forms, and they are never the same between every individual.

They succumb much less frequently to the Frenzy than normal Abuki, although when they do, it's much more devastatingly powerful. They've been called "Heavenly" creatures because of the rarity and severity of their attacks, as well as their more noble manner of appearance-- although, they are no more Heavenly than other Abuki. Other than that, they do not possess any other greater strengths with fire then any other.

Most Great Red Abuki live among human colonies in human form, and hold very high standings in court societies. Males who are born as Great Red Abuki are outrageously feminine, so much so that they could easily deceive the most attentive Abuki male *and some do...frequently* ;)

About Frenzy
"Frenzy" is the term used to describe a state in which all Abuki periodically go into after sexual maturity. The individual becomes full of adrenaline and mindlessly burns anything and everything that is flammable within sight. The condition will last for about 1-12 hours.

While they are pretty much conscious of all actions during this time, they claim that they have no control over their personal actions and allow themselves to indulge in their fiery destructiveness. This is because that, during the Frenzy, it's both emotionally and physically pleasurable to submit to the urges to burn during the Frenzy-- it's not impossible, or even hard, to resist the urge, but in this day and age many Abuki don't give a rat's ass about consideration for human settlements anymore (as most human settlements are built from lumber and are situated around forests, the Frenzy is the bane for many villages)

There is a condition called "pre-Frenzy syndrome" wherein the individual becomes very emotionally imbalanced a few hours prior the actual Frenzy. This is uncontrolable. "Post-Frenzy syndrome" usually lasts about half an hour straight after the Frenzy state, wherein the individual becomes very excitable and energetic (it's not uncommon for some individuals to copulate or become extremely horny after Frenzy).

Usually, most Abuki naturally enter the Frenzy every 3-4 years. One will immediately enter Frenzy after they have touched a flame that is A)not their own or B)not induced by another Abuki. There is no way for an individual to come out of Frenzy unless A) they have let the Frenzy run its course or, B) the individual copulates (though this will merely speed up the course of Frenzy and will not guarantee that the Frenzy will cease.....unless it was extremely good sex)

History of the Abuki
WIP (as this will tie into the Histories of the other Factions, this will not be revealed until the other three are introduced)

Terms
Abuki-- taken from the term "Kabuki", as Great Red Abuki sometimes resemble the masks worn by kabuki actors.

Uuuuh.....I'll get the others in a little while XD
