...or alternately named "Diamond In The Sky", as is reflected by the song which so shamelessly inspired me: [link]
In all honesty, I completely forgot about this concept until I heard that song. The lyrics just fit the idea perfectly and I couldn't stop thinking about them.
Since before highschool, I've been dabbling with the vague idea of "Moon Witches" a primordial race of all-female moonlight elementals who use the Sun/Moon's rays as fuel for their skyward kingdoms. The "witch" part comes in from the fact that they ride on slender, clockwork vehicles that vaguely resemble brooms.
There are so many versions of the same idea I don't even know how to further elaborate on them. The main plot of which they come from varies from love stories, to action/adventures, to fictional analysis of past/current social politics. What stays the same is that the time frame; it's a steam-punk setting in the Great Depression era, and always, a "Moon Baby" falls from the sky and the ensuing chaos is always fun to think about
Anyway....I thought it was fun to share....
